Qualifications For Admission
Candidates must possess a good first degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution in the relevant area of study. Preference would be given to candidates with a First Class or Second Class Upper or lower Division. Candidates with Third Class must demonstrate their ability to pass a selection interview to be conducted by the Department.
Graduate Diploma in Art Education (1 year)
This programme is available for non-professionals who wish to join the Teaching Profession in the field of Art.
M.A. Art Education (2 years)
This professional programme comprises one year taught course and one year research. It is available for teachers and persons who wish to become Art educators.
M.Phil. Art Education (2years)
This programme is by research, and leads to a submission of comprehensive Report at the end of the two years. It is suitable for those who may not be able to come into residence for study.
Ph.D. Art Education (3 years)
Entry requirements for Metal & Jewellery
A First Class or Second Class (upper division) degree in Metalsmithing and/or Jewellery is required. Departmental MFA committee will decide on admission, after assessment of applicant’s portfolio.
Entry requirements for Textiles
A candidate for admission to the MA Textile Design Programme must have completed the B.A. (Industrial Art) degree (Textile Option) or its equivalent with First Class or Second Class Honours (Upper Division). The Department Graduate Admission will be based on existing KNUST regulations.
