The Department of Industrial Art is one of the Five (5) Departments in the Faculty of Art under the College of Art and Built Environment (CABE). The department is a multidisciplinary department poised to promote and develop academic excellence in teaching and research with the focus on industrial practices.
The Department can boast of its unique programmes of study which are all oriented toward competency-based and problem-based learning and span through Ceramics (Ceramic Design Technology and Ceramic Science), Metal Product Design (Jewellery, Product Design and Metalsmithing), Integrated Rural Art & Industry (Wood, Leather, Metal Art, Bamboo and Rattan, Fibres and Fabrics) and Textiles (Textile Design, Technology and Fashion Design).
Our research strength ensures our degree programmes are at the forefront of knowledge and thinking. This ensures our graduates are equipped with the most up-to-date techniques, methods and knowledge bases.
Additionally, our investment in facilities and staff ensures that we can provide an excellent experience in a friendly and supportive environment.
Our academic staffs are well-connected and have established links with industry and other international organisations, both in Ghana and overseas. This brings richness to our teaching and degree programmes.
We also have some-established collaborative links with other colleges in the University, and with other academic institutions around the world.
